New Year, New Web Site, and a Look back at 2018

Vincent David Johnson Photography dot com, finally gets mobile.

I can say with a fair amount of certainty that 2018 has been one heck of year. And I’m happy to have put a cap on it by finally updating my photography website, not only to include new images, but it is now mobile friendly. In a process that took me over two years, thanks in part to a faulty upgrade that cost me all the progress I had made the first website update, and then my second go-around was interrupted by a house fire, which had me relocated for over half the year.

Between living out of a hotel and later apartment building, all my time was spent between a busy wedding & commercial photography span that last from most of the year. However, I can finally refer people to my website with joy knowing that not only is it mobile friendly, but the photos are up-to-date.

Despite what you see on this blog section, I can assure you I have photographed more than a few weddings since 2013. Photography blog posts, and portfolio galleries will be added as I backdate some of my posts from my former blog, and create some new entries that were left out over the last year, or so.

Until then, enjoy a few of my favorite photos from 2018.

A fire in February, at an adjoining house filled our home with smoke & fire, making it unlivable to for over 6 months. I was able to grab a few photos while saving valuables.
The view from my temporary living was a photographer’s dream, but not living in my actual home was a nightmare. Sunrise, Promontory Point, Hyde Park, Chicago, Illinois
Took a spring break and grab this lovely photo at Clingmans Dome in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.
Thinks got a little upside-down at Melissa and Pat’s wedding on St. Patrick’s Day, as they mixed Irish & Mexican roots, with a mariachi band and a bunch of rugby players.
Dan & Raff tied the knot at a small ceremony at the cozy church of St. Paul & the Redeemer in Kenwood, Chicago.
Making kids look handsome in the fall is easy if you have the right background. Waterfall Glenn, Lemont, Illinois.
Fall always ends up being a popular engagement photo time. Looking forward to 2019 for Megan & Tyler’s wedding. Dellwood Park, Lockport, Illinois.
Had blast shooting Amity & J’s wedding at St. Paul & the Redeemer in Kenwood, Chicago. My second wedding this year there.
